We support individuals living in the community to become as independent as possible and maintain their desired level of independence. Supported Living Services , sometimes referred to as Independent Living, provides people with developmental disabilities with support where they need it—at home and in the communities where they live. With this service, people live in their own home or apartment and AbleLight provides the customized support each individual needs to achieve their unique goals.
Personalized support ensures that our coaches take the approach that every person they work with is different and unique. The supports that one person may have are not the same that another may need and may be affected by other factors such as location, personal goals, and level of independence. Now mentally and physically disabled people can live in their own home and have personal support provided by another organisation or by hiring a personal assistant (paid visiting or live-in carer). Adults with disabilities, as those without disabilities, often have the desire to live independently in their own home. Supported Living provides the assistance needed to live in the community, outside of a family home or long-term care facility. Beyond providing basic support to live in a house or apartment, Supported Living Services provide participants with opportunities to develop skills in activities of daily living and to fully engage in their community.
